VINCENT: How can one see that he is now ready to marry? What maybe the possible indicators? How can one best prepare for marriage? Is there anything like the right time or age?
Hi Vince! Marriage is not an age but a stage. There are three levels of maturity:
The first level is dependence – and when you are dependent on your parents or anyone else for your upkeep, then you are far from being ready for marriage. Just forget it no matter how old you are!
The second level of maturity is independence. Independence is the level at which you don’t need anyone, because you can live on your own.
Many people stop growing right at this level and that is why many marriages are unhappy in our generation.
The real level of maturity that makes you ready for marriage is not dependence or independence, rather it is interdependence. Interdependence is the highest level of maturity in life.
Interdependence is that stage in your life that you realize though you can go fast alone; you need a partner in order to go far.
Marriage, is for two people who know their strengths and weaknesses and are coming together to complement each other.
