Christopher Columbus wanted to go around the world, seeking a sea route to India. However, he mistakenly got lost and landed on a continent far greater than his land of origin.
NB: Of course, he was completely shocked to find black people were already visiting the American continent way before Europe knew it existed. But that’s a different lesson altogether.
