The Power of Winning in Silence – the Art of Hush

T

Many people think the lion’s power is in its roar, but in fact, the lion only roars when it wants to scare. When it wants to catch prey, it uses silence (stealth or discreet movement).

People fear thunder because it sounds loud and bolstering, while in fact, thunder is relatively harmless except perhaps the discomfort to the ears.

The real thing you ought to fear is that flash that comes just before it. Lightning is a pure electric wave yet it makes no noise.

Silence is a Super Power

One of the most fearsome jets is called the stealth bomber. Its power is not in having powerful missiles or lightning speeds, no! In fact, it’s a huge and heavy jet.

Its power comes from the fact that it’s invisible to the enemy radar, allowing it to penetrate deep into enemy territory and drop bombs or conduct surveillance unspotted.

True power always tries to minimize resistance by being unobservable.

Job in the Bible said he had discovered the same trait with God: “indeed, these are but the outer fringes of his power, and how small a whisper we hear of him.” (Job 26:14)

So, it must be with you: the more you rise in life, accumulating personal power and influence, the more you must learn how to move in a whisper.

Practice The Art of Hush

Let people only hear afterwards that you were around. This way you will keep your enemies off your scent and surround yourself with an unpredictable air, or even a touch of mystery.

It’s often not the loudest person in the room who is the most powerful, but the quiet fellow at the corner whom every speaker seems to glance at for approval.

– MIKE SONKANI

You must learn how to appear and disappear unnoticed, and how to blend among people without standing out. This increases your respect.

A chicken who has laid an egg makes so much noise as if she has laid a comet, and yet in the nearby jungle in the silence of the night a mother elephant birthed a small giant into the world. – Mike Sonkani

Stealth (silence) is strength.
